Archive for September, 2006

This is exactly why I refrain from writing more often.

I was born, back
in the day, when computers were big as a house, but now computers are as big
as my head, but for those that do not know me, that’s pretty big. Oh, did I
say head? I meant forehead.

Jamila told me
to write that.

Jamila has food
on her face. Good job.

I’m doing cyclocross
this fall. The first circle mud game is in two weeks. I have to get ready, therefore,
I am assembling the bits and pieces necessary to doing cyclocross…like learning
how to jump on my bike…I’m not very good at that. Then there’s that whole
cyclocross bike thing…I think I’ve got that under control.

Seriously though,
I’m like so excited about this whole cyclocross thing. I’ve heard like so much
about it and I just think that’ll be really coool. I think I’m going to fall
down a lot though…votever. Running around with a bike and riding really fast
and falling down sounds a lot like when I was 6. I fell down a helluva lot back
then…still do.

First, there’s
more circle gaming on pavement though. I think four more races, but maybe three,
cuz I don’t know anything about the East Point race, just that it happened last
year. So if it happened last year, that must mean that it’ll happen this year,
right?

I don’t think anything
else of any real importance is happening in my life at the moment…a little
bike practice…a little caveman eating…a little sleeping (obviously I’m lying
there)…and I’ve been making sure to bathe more regularly.

I’m just kidding,
I always shower within a couple of hours of bike practice.

Just playin, no,
but seriously.

I’m done. This
was a most useless posting of stupid words.

Rip the turns, pedal the straights…

Carolina Cup was
a lot nicer to me this year than it was last year. Last year, I barely finished
the crit and then d-nuffed the next two days…I think I lasted twenty minutes
on Sunday. This year, I finished the crit, wrecked out on Saturday, and finished
Sunday, so that’s improvement right? Just one DNF is better than two.

Friday night’s
race was fun…I think I raced like an idiot, but I don’t really know, because
I don’t understand complicated things like bike races. I just try to get to
the front if possible and then follow moves until I can’t do it anymore (which
is usually between 3 and 4), then go backwards, and try again. I think I almost
made a smart move Friday night, but I was too blown to do anything about it.

On another note,
I finished my ten-day cycle of antibiotics on Friday…cool.

Saturday was on
a mini-speedway, NASCAR style. It reminded me of one of the tracks off of NASCAR
2005 on the GameCube, it’s a fantasy track called Red Ball…it was my favorite.
Whatever, that is irrelevant. I went 20 minutes on Saturday before I was tackled
by some jack ass and busted the hell out of my shifters, tore up some skin,
whatever, expected stuff when one falls down. I wasn’t very happy when I fell
down though…I said some bad words.

Sunday was ok…I
finished, but I didn’t do too much else of any consequence. I need to get better
at doing stuff of consequence, because apparently that’s how you win bike races.

More importantly
over the weekend, I got to hang out with Mark Hekman and to a less extent Jim
Baldesare (just playin). Mark missed Univest cuz he ran into a dog the day before
he was supposed to leave and jacked his wrist, so he worked hard all weekend
trying to keep himself well hydrated with beer, beer, and more beer. I tried
to help out as much as possible, and keep myself hydrated as well.

So yeah, I guess
that’s that. Next weekend there’s racing in LaGrange, then no Two Hours From
Anywhere, then Atlanta, then East Point, then Greenville, then that’s it. Maybe
once I’m fully rid of the antibiotics, I might get lucky and feel really good
for a few days and stumble on a good race, or maybe I’ll just learn to be ’smart’
and yeah, something like that.

Back to thebikegame,
cuz that’s where it’s at. Bye.
